Task Description

Task

Part 1: Tutorial video

Create a 15 minute or 30 minute tutorial video explaning a topic

Please remember with each of these we are not expecting you to be an expert on the topic. We only expect you to teach what you know. As long as you know something more than the students (which you do!), you can teach that knowledge.

Tips for the video:

  • Don't spend too long making it perfect. Record only once or twice

  • You can include stop points where you ask a multiple choice question or where the students can try out an exercise/write some code

Part 2: Tutorial writeup

Create a tutorial/writeup to support the video.

In the tutorial:

  • Write up the content of the video. Focus on the parts which students may struggle on

  • Include between 1-2 hours worth of coding exercises that the students can use to practice what they've learnt

  • Shorter is better, but having more code examples is even better

Please email ididit@thebackhomeproject.org once you have completed it.

Tools

  • We recommend using github (a readme.md), Dev.to or gitbooks (free version) to create the tutorial writeup

  • You can email the tutorial video to ididit@thebackhomeproject.org or upload it on youtube.

We recommend using OBS studio to do the recording
